The parent company of GESA Form + Funktion Displaybau GmbH was founded in 1965 by Mr Gepke and Mr Salm in Dreieich-Götzenhain, a few kilometres outside of the metropolis of Frankfurt am Main. The first two letters of their surnames were combined to form the company name.
The company began by specialising in the packaging of products for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
Continuous development of the product range and expansion beyond the German-speaking world necessitated the move in 1979 to the present administration and production facility in Dreieich-Offenthal. From the following year, GESA shifted its focus to the production of displays and product stands for the international cosmetics industry. Since 1983, the family company has been managed by Mr Otmar M. Rau.
After multiple extension and conversion works, the diverse production facilities on the site in Frankfurt now include the deep-drawing department, modern 3D and 5D lasers, in-house print shop and tool shop, milling machines, and all stages from preassembly to final assembly and packaging.
Because of its proximity to Frankfurt airport, which is only 20 km away, the site offers excellent accessibility for customers to visit our showroom or to familiarise themselves with our production processes on site. The central location at the geographical heart of Europe and the outstanding connection to the well-developed motorway network are decisive advantages for the distribution of the finished furniture by lorry.
In summer 2005, we opened our sales office at the heart of the fashion and cosmetics industry, in Rue de Bourgogne in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. This branch gives us quick, straightforward and direct contact on location with customers from the mass and prestige markets. As a result of the French influences, our designers and drafters are always up to date with the newest fashions in their creations and they incorporate the latest trends into their designs.
In addition to the sales office, the premises also include a showroom in which the latest fair furniture, rack rails and displays are shown.
In December 2005, the company based in Frankfurt founded the 100% subsidiary GESA Display Manufacture (Kunshan) Co. Ltd. at the gates of Shanghai as a wholly foreign owned enterprise (WFOE). The additional capacity and favourable production conditions not only stimulate production of a wide range of POS projects in Germany; the Chinese subsidiary also benefits from the many years of experience and high quality standard of the parent company.
GESA Kunshan has now made a name for itself on the Chinese market. To meet the increasing demand in Asia and supply specialist POS for the different requirements of the Asian beauty markets, GESA Kunshan moved to new premises with an area of 10,000 m2 in 2012. The new plant facilitates an increased volume and greater efficiency in terms of both costs and speed (time to market).
As well as the classic counters and displays, entire shop-in-shop counter solutions are produced here for flagship stores of the individual brand suppliers.
